I worked for a company that was bought and sold four times in nine years. Yep – good times! I learned to be comfortable with change whether I wanted to be or not. But there was something even more important that I learned – what works and what doesn’t work in business.

I saw five sets of executive teams, five sets of strategic planning processes, communication strategies, company cultures and employee programs. I did not read this in text book, I did not find this in a case study. I lived it and breathed it for nine years. I witnessed what caused the company to grow. I saw what improved profitability. I also saw what destroyed executive credibility and trust. I saw what stopped employees from being productive and bringing their best to work each day.

I want these things that I saw and the lessons that I learned to benefit you: a business owner, leader in your organization, sales rep and even ministers. (Lessons in leadership are the same for everyone; how we apply them may be different.)
